| The Acoustic Kitchen at the Riverside | |||
October 2007 |

WOWWWWWWW! The house overflowed with people come to hear some of the finest music we have had at The Acoustic Kitchen in many a month!! The Proposition - Norwich based 3-some playing their 1st gig at the Riverside - did not disappoint and set the tone for the rest of the evening with their toe-tapping medley of songs. Nice one guys! Dan Maitland was the 1st of our evening showcase acts and had made the longhaul up from the capitol for an afternoon interview by Dave Webster of BBC Norfolk and then the gig and the long trek back - great sound from Dan, a veteran performer with many more songs waiting to be written. I particularly enjoyed his relaxed style - perfectly suited to a TAcK gig. Lynn based Pretty Peggy added a 5th member (Gemma Sainty ex-Eclipse lead singer) to their already impressive line up and brought the house down around the ears of their faithful and newly added fans. A band to watch next year when they come back for their own showcase slot. Excellent sound they're currently making so I'm looking forward to watching their progress in the year ahead. And finally - what a treat to welcome back Ian McKone for his 2nd gig at The Acoustic Kitchen. The delicately phrased fingerwork in his workingman's trad songs were wistful against his strong vocals. Ian is fast becoming a favourite of our club and we are likely to see more of him next year. All in all - a banquet of music at its finest! Look out for the next Live at the Riverside on 27th November
