Acoustic Kitchen, King's Lynn, is Closing

Peter Kitchen says "I have struggled for the last 3 years to bring contemporary singer / songwriters to this part of Norfolk but have continually been plagued by poor turnouts – so much so that I have dug deep in my own pockets to at least give the artists something to take home. Given the current economic climate, this is neither desirable nor sustainable
I may take a fresh look in 2011 at some form of promotion, given the enormous pool of talent in our country but need a long break to recover my passion and will re-assess after the Christmas holiday.
My humblest apologies to those stalwarts who have supported me through each session – you are known and much respected my friends and I extend my deepest gratitude for your endless encouragement."
Sad news indeed.

Call for Questions

Does your child ask you strange, magical and improbable questions about why things are the way they are, such as; where does the sky end…? why are street lamps yellow…? where do the clouds go…?
Artist Julie Myers is compiling a book of children’s ‘improbable questions’ and will then attempt to find the answers from specialist professors at the University of Cambridge. The questions and answers will initially be made public on a project website, to be followed by the publication of a book.
We would be delighted to hear the questions your children have asked - be they extraordinary or everyday. Please send an email with your child’s question(s), including their name and age to julie@wysingartscentre.org
