About Us

In the late 1980's Fenland Arts Association was created to co-ordinate and promote and improve local awareness and to develop wider knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the of the Arts. 25 years later, we are still continuing to achieve this aim - despite the impact of economic challenges on the whole voluntary sector.

For many years we have depended heavily on and are very grateful for funding from Fenland District Council. However, as with all other charities and voluntary sector organisations, this funding has sadly reduced more and more over recent years.

We have always offered support to the local community including regular listing of all known arts events. To enhance this offer to the Community, we have launched this new web-site which will give local groups / clubs and individuals an improved platform to promote themselves and their events. We will continue to work with the community festivals and events held all over Fenland providing local entertainment and will continue to search out and support local talent through successful events like 'Search For A Star'. We will continue to develop it's programme for older people and will work strategically with local authorities and other organisations to develop the Arts offer across Fenland.

To ensure continuation of the organisation the Board of Fenland Arts Association has made some key strategic decisions for the new financial year and for the foreseeable future. The most significant decision to date has been to support and launch a separate Community Interest Company that focuses on young people, '20TwentyProductions CIC'. This new organisation has the resources to deliver a wide range of creative activities for children and young people. This new company will take on the management of the youth theatres that Fenland Arts developed and run successfully for seven years in March - and more recently in Whittlesey and Chatteris as well.

Ensuring consistency with the same people delivering these activities, but investing in the technology that will enhance the performers experience. 20TwentyProductions CIC will also deliver projects in film, photography, technical theatre, music and arts and crafts to young people, again offering the latest in technology including 3D cameras.

To find out more about 20TwentyProductions CIC visit their web-site at www.20twentyproductions.co.uk.

We look forward to working together with our new 'sister' organisation and being able to continue to raise awareness of and promote the Arts across the district. If you would like to get involved in the activities of our organisation please do not hesitate to get in touch..
